🏡 Future Day 2025: "Living" with Harry from Immobilien Kontor Saarlouis
On October 28, 2025, I had the opportunity to participate as a volunteer speaker at the Future Day event at the Nikolaus-Groß-School in Lebach . Under the motto "Understanding the Future – Shaping the Future," a total of four workshops were offered: Housing, Finances, Taxes, and Starting a Career .
I enjoyed working with two groups of students on the topic of "Housing" —a subject that affects us all but is rarely discussed in schools.
From first home to owning your own property
Together with the 10th grade students (average age 15 years), we explored questions such as:
-
Where do people actually live after school – in a shared apartment, renting, or their first own apartment?
-
What costs are associated with housing?
-
What does a rental agreement actually mean – and what should you pay attention to?
-
And of course: How does buying, renting, or building actually work?
We brought the topic to life with numerous practical examples from the daily work of a real estate agent and small discussion groups. The conversations about how housing will change in the future – from sustainable construction to new forms of living – were particularly interesting.
Taking responsibility – passing on knowledge
It was a fantastic experience for me to share my knowledge and passion for real estate with the students. It's impressive to see how open and interested they are in future-oriented topics.
A big thank you goes to IWJB gGmbH , which organized the Future Day, and to the Nikolaus-Groß-School in Lebach for the invitation and warm hospitality.

Shaping the future begins in the mind
If students leave the workshop with new questions, ideas, and perhaps even initial plans for the future, then that's exactly the point of the day.
I look forward to participating in similar projects in the future – because the future begins where knowledge is shared.
