Number of the month: 8 guests

Eight guests – that's how many will fit into the bar planned by the American space company Space Perspective in the stratosphere, at the edge of space. The space bar will be located at an altitude of almost 32 km and approximately two kilometers above the ozone layer. The spacecraft Neptune is designed to be virtually emission-free and will be constructed from raw materials that can be recycled and reused after the flight. The first flights with the Neptune spacecraft are planned for 2024.

The Neptune spaceship consists of three parts: the space balloon, the backup system for a safe landing, and the space capsule containing the bar. When fully inflated, the Neptune balloon has a volume of approximately 509,703 cubic meters. The floating space bar is approximately 213 meters high.

Unlike all other spacecraft, where the crew module separates from the propulsion module mid-flight, Neptune's capsule remains securely attached to the space balloon throughout the entire flight – from liftoff to splashdown. This guarantees a seamless, safe, and smooth flight. The ascent speed of approximately 19 kilometers per hour also contributes to this. However, the low speed prevents the crew from achieving weightlessness.

The amenities include a bathroom and panoramic windows offering an almost 360-degree view. These special windows allow visitors to see approximately 724 kilometers in all directions, providing a clear view of the Earth. However, those wishing to share in this experience must pay more than €120,000 for their ticket.
