According to a study by Interhyp, almost half of Germans are willing to compromise when it comes to their dream property. This applies regardless of whether it's a house they own or a rental apartment. That might not sound like much at first. However, a closer look at the figures reveals a different picture. Many Germans are prepared to accept lower-priced properties in highly competitive locations.

For example, 68 percent of those surveyed find it perfectly acceptable to compromise on the room layout. 66 percent aren't particularly concerned about the construction method, and for 63 percent, the quality of the furnishings isn't a major factor. However, when it comes to comfort, only 22 percent of respondents are willing to make concessions. Similarly, only 36 percent find it acceptable to compromise on keeping a pet. And 44 percent can live with the fact that the property isn't in their ideal location.
