Number of the month

82 %

82 percent of Germans would like to live in an unusual place. This was the result of a representative study by the mortgage lender Interhyp. For example, 24 percent of those surveyed would like to live in a country house, a farmhouse, or a mill. A bungalow would be an option for 20 percent of Germans. This is not particularly surprising, as bungalows have experienced a small renaissance in recent years.

Fifteen percent of Germans dream of living in a penthouse. For another 13 percent, a loft, studio, or atelier would also be their dream property. Only one-tenth of Germans aspire to live in a villa, castle, manor house, or similar property.
