The "Germany Makes Plus" campaign has restarted, and homeowners modernizing their oil heating systems can once again secure subsidies from the heating oil industry until December 31, 2017. approximately €3,200 through three subsidy components.
The KfW Development Bank offers a 10% subsidy on investment costs if they opt for an oil-fired condensing boiler when replacing their old boiler.
The Institute for Heat and Oil Technology (IWO) provides an additional €250 if an oil-fired condensing boiler from one of the participating manufacturers is chosen. To receive the subsidy, however, 1,500 liters of heating oil must be purchased from one of the participating petroleum suppliers within nine months of the boiler's modernization.
The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) also provides up to €2,000 in funding for a combination of oil and solar energy.
Under certain circumstances, those modernizing their heating systems can also secure further subsidies, for example from the 10,000 Houses Program in Bavaria or from the KfW's Energy Efficiency Incentive Program.
