Becoming a real estate agent isn't difficult, but being one is
This year, the Easter Bunny has set himself a very special goal. He wants to establish a second source of income. His chosen profession: real estate agent. This way, he'll not only bring joy to others with Easter baskets and sweet surprises, but also with houses and apartments.
We spoke with the Easter Bunny about his career plans.
Dear Easter Bunny, why do you want to become a real estate agent?
My first reason is that I find real estate interesting. The second is that I want to help people find their ideal home. Because, just like with my job as the Easter Bunny, there are good and bad examples in every profession. However, in the real estate industry, bad apples are bad for people who want to realize their property projects. But they're also bad for the real estate agents themselves, who are truly skilled and passionate about their work. My goal is to give this often negatively perceived profession a positive, Easter-like touch.
What hurdles do you have to overcome to become a good real estate agent?
Many professional development courses await me. I also need to be very familiar with numerous laws and regulations, such as the Condominium Ownership Act and the Money Laundering Act. Furthermore, I must always stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the real estate market and industry. New legal and political requirements will constantly arise. But the people aspect is also crucial. For this, one must enjoy communicating with people and be empathetic. After all, real estate transactions are often emotionally charged.
Which task do you consider particularly important?
Certainly, customer service and the role of mediator are crucial. Specifically, this means finding an amicable and satisfactory solution for both parties. I'm also thinking about inherited properties. My cousin Ostara was herself part of an inheritance community. Only after the situation almost escalated was a real estate agent, acting as a professional and independent mediator, able to bring the dispute over the inherited property to a successful conclusion.
Did your cousin's inheritance reinforce your decision to become a real estate agent?
I had already considered becoming a real estate agent. However, how the real estate professional ultimately brought the inheritance case to a successful conclusion further solidified my decision. I'm already looking forward to my first real estate transactions and consultations.
Thank you for the interview. We wish you every success with your second career goal.
