Beautiful summer evenings in any weather

Patio heaters extend the evening on the terrace.

Patio heaters come in many variations. Which one is best suited, and whether portable or permanently installed, depends on the size and location of the patio. Electric patio heaters are suitable for covered patios. Infrared heaters produce a particularly pleasant warmth.

Many Germans are spending the summer at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, but according to weather experts, the summer will remain changeable, and so the balmy summer evenings with family or friends on the patio might not be as frequent as hoped. Even in late summer and autumn, patio heaters can extend or even make evenings on the patio possible.

The infrared heater is probably the best choice for private outdoor use. Unlike gas-powered patio heaters, it can be safely used on a covered terrace or under an awning. This is even possible in windy weather, because the direct and efficient infrared radiation doesn't heat the air, but rather people and objects, and it doesn't dissipate even in windy conditions. Infrared rays penetrate the air very quickly and are immediately noticeable. The radiation releases its heat energy when it hits a surface, thus also heating the ground, so that legs and feet stay warm as well.

Mobile, freestanding models are ideal for flexible use. If the patio is frequently used even on cooler days, it makes sense to permanently integrate the patio heater into the patio furniture. For this purpose, the heaters are mounted on the house wall or under the roof. A wider heat distribution can be achieved with several infrared heaters; a second heater is recommended for four to six people.

Infrared heaters are available with remote control or control via Bluetooth and smartphone app. Dimmable devices, which allow you to regulate the heat output, are particularly popular.
